About
Love Groove Festival is a soul-stirring, music and arts festival based in Baltimore, Maryland.
Now in its 8th year, Love Groove Festival showcases a wide range of artistic styles, genres, and cultural traditions. From visual art exhibitions to live music performances, spoken word poetry, and informative workshops, we strive to represent the voices and perspectives of all members of our community. The Festival is held annually in late summer/early Fall with workshops running throughout the year.
Love Groove got its roots in 2017 by Artist / Composer / Founder, John Tyler while in high school. At 17, John wanted to offer fellow musicians a platform to showcase their talent – something that seemed to be scarce for young Baltimore artists at that time. Also, John envisioned a space where Baltimore musicians from different music genres could network to enrich the overall music experience & support in Baltimore. The first Festival (then called Love Groove Concert) was held at Motor House in Baltimore’s Station North Arts District using his own small savings from his job at Barnes & Noble.
Today, Love Groove reaches an audience of 1,500+ and has expanded to include visual artists, small business owners, food vendors, skateboarders, and high school students seeking employment. Over the years, Love Groove Festival sponsors have included Johns Hopkins University, PNC Bank, T. Rowe Price, Black Arts District and private donors. Over 350 performing and visual artists have participated in Love Groove, some have become nationally known.
Love Groove Festival is one facet of Love Groove Entertainment which also includes various programs to help upcoming artists & entrepreneurs.
The Love Groove Team is grateful for its community and corporate support.
Love Groove Festival is a Baltimore's launching pad for young artists to be inspired and to create.
